What is Aid: #ForTheLoveOfLIVE ?

Music venues play a critical role in Canada’s economy and culture. To help offset the impact of the pandemic, the Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA), with support from SOCAN, is providing $1,000 to eligible venues to be spent as needed. If your live music venue/space meets the eligibility criteria, please consider applying.

Who can participate?

Independently owned and operated venues in Canada, with a capacity of 500 or less can apply.

Can I apply more than once? What if I own multiple venues?

You can apply once per venue.

How will recipients be chosen?

Qualified venues will be selected by blind, random lottery between July 14 and August 1 and announced by September 30, 2022. (The original August 4th announcement date has been deferred to allow additional time to contact the selected qualified venues). A total of 30 venues across Canada will receive $1,000 to aid their recovery.

When is the deadline for applying?

Aid: #ForTheLoveOfLIVE will begin receiving applications on June 13 and continue until July 13.

How do I know if I’ve been successful?

Successful recipients will receive a notification from the CLMA after August 1, 2022.

Why does the capacity of the venue need to be below 500?

While all music venues have been deeply impacted by the pandemic, it was felt that $1,000 would go further for small venues. The CLMA continues to help rebuild capacity in all live music companies in a variety of ways.
